Our Story

Delaware Veterinary Dental Practice was started by Dr. Stephanie DeMarco, a longtime general practitioner in the state of Delaware. She has been practicing small animal medicine since 2001 and has had a very strong interest in veterinary dentistry. Dr. DeMarco knows how important veterinary dentistry is and how hard it can be to find quality, affordable care for your pets. She has also been a general practitioner who performed dental procedures and knows that sometimes, there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get every pet seen and cared for.

Our team is very comfortable with all cases of cleanings, extractions, gingival hyperplasia, oral tumor staging, bonding, and advanced periodontal care.

With the addition of Dr. Han Chia for limited services, we offer Canine tooth (or other single root) root canals, restorations, cleft palate treatment, small fracture repair, and many more advanced surgeries.

Dr. DeMarco has worked hard to hand-pick a team that is as excited about dentistry and client care as she is.

Meet the Professional Staff

Founder, Owner & Chief of Staff
Dr. Stephanie DeMarco has been practicing Veterinary Medicine in Delaware for over 25 years. She provides dental services to patients, including cleanings, extractions, bonding, stomatitis treatment, tumor staging and removal, and much more. Dr. DeMarco performs the majority of the cases at DVDP.
Dr. DeMarco is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of PreVeterinary Medicine at the University of Delaware. She is excited to be helping to grow the next generation of Veterinarians.
Dr. Chia performs advanced Dental services on a limited basis for DVDP
Han Chia, VMD, DAVDC, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dentistry and Oral Surgery department at Rowan University. She earned her BS in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2013. She spent a year conducting reproductive research on the Panamanian Golden Frog at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Chia completed a rotating internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed by a residency in dentistry and oral surgery at the Center for Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery. She is passionate about all areas of veterinary dentistry, with special interests in periodontal disease, oral masses, stomatitis, and veterinary dental education.
Dr. Martin Kennedy is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist with over a decade of clinical experience in both private practice and university settings. Dr. Kennedy comes to us remotely through “My Vet Anesthesiologist”. This group of board-certified veterinary anesthesiologists provide customized protocols and livestream monitoring — delivering peace of mind so our team can focus on what they do best. This service is used for our more involved anesthetic cases or for any client wishing to add this service for an additional fee.

Following his graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Kennedy completed a rotating internship at the University of Minnesota, and then a residency in Anesthesia & Pain Management at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Kennedy works exclusively as a consultant providing remote anesthesia support to a variety of specialty hospitals, including our own. He has particular interests in total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA), the management of high-risk patients, multimodal pain control, and teaching all things anesthesia.

Meet the Support Team

Krista Adcock

Licensed Veterinary Technician – Clinical Coordinator
With 11+ years of experience in the veterinary field, Krista has developed a well-rounded expertise across general practice, urgent care, and now, a traveling veterinary dental practice. A proud graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Food Science, Krista brings both a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience to the profession. She has a particular interest in anesthesia for animals, ensuring the highest level of comfort and safety during procedures.
At home, she is a loving pet parent to three furry companions: Gus (dog), Marty (dog), and Elvis (cat). Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and family, reading, sipping coffee, attending concerts, and cheering on the Phillies.
Passionate about animal care and committed to ongoing education, Krista brings both professionalism and genuine warmth to every patient and family she serves.
Jennifer Long

Veterinary Technician – Patient Care Coordinator
Jennifer realized her love for animals at a very young age, and has been working in veterinary medicine since 2016. Jenny has worked in general practice, surgery, emergency services, and with exotics, but has found a true passion for dentistry along the way. She is a compassionate and motivated animal advocate who loves finding ways to help both people and their pets. During her free time, she enjoys paintball, traveling, going to new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.
Joshua Edwards

Client Services & Operations Coordinator
Josh comes to our practice with patient integrity in mind. He has a master's in computer information systems, a B.S. in Clinical Psychology, and continued education as a veterinary technician.
Focused on information security & compliance, Josh can often be found client facing. Great with animals and people, Josh is an asset to this practice in more ways than one.
He had a cat and rabbit who both lived for more than 20 years. A caregiver at heart, Josh ensures your furry friend has a comfortable journey with us from start to finish.
Sara Spoltore

Marketing Manager
Sara is a recent graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Hospitality Business Management and a minor in Event Management. She has always had a strong passion for graphic design, publication design, and digital marketing. She combines her academic knowledge with a strong work ethic to deliver innovative strategies that help us stand out. Outside of work, Sara enjoys dancing, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family. Her enthusiasm and commitment to DVDP make her an integral part of our team.
